After losing to Sri Lanka in the T20I series, Bangladesh are eager to reply in kind in the ODI series, beginning from March 13 in Chattogram.

Bangladesh might have missed out on the opportunity to seal their maiden T20 series against Sri Lanka in Sylhet on Saturday, but in the sense of preparation for the forthcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup, the 2-1 series loss to the visitors was not a complete bust.

The action will then shift to Chattogram where the teams will play three ODIs on March 13, 15, and 18. Teams will go back to Sylhet for the first Test which will begin on March 22 before capping off the tour with the second Test in Sylhet on March 30.

On November 11, 2023, after Bangladesh’s final match in the ICC World Cup ended in a sound defeat to Australia, Najmul Hossain Shanto, who had captained in that game in place of the injured Shakib Al Hasan, boldly told the media that he was ready to lead the Tigers full-time if the opportunity arises.
