A legion of Bangladesh fans gathered at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in hopes of taking back something to cherish from an abysmal World Cup campaign but they ultimately left in agony on Tuesday. 

Bangladesh openers Liton Das and Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored fifties to help the Tigers to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their first World Cup warm-up match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. 

Mehedi Hasan Miraz led the Tigers in the match today, with regular skipper Shakib Al Hasan having to sit out due to an ankle sprain he picked up during practise the day before.
