Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that the board is unaware of Mustafizur Rahman’s call-up to the Indian Premier League. 

Reporters present during the Bangladesh squad announcement in Mirpur yesterday, ahead of the upcoming T20I series against the UAE and Pakistan, may have felt a strong sense of deja vu.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is waiting on the injury assessment of Liton Das as the wicketkeeper-batter is the frontrunner to captain the Tigers in their upcoming T20I series against the UAE and Pakistan.

The series will be Bangladesh's first meeting with the UAE in a bilateral T20I series since 2022. 

Bangladesh have already ascended to the pinnacle of age-level cricket once, when the young Tigers won the ICC Under-19 World Cup title in 2020 in South Africa.

Sabbir Rahman was called back into the squad for the Asia Cup last August after over two years despite not much of impressive performances in the domestic circuit.

When Bangladesh takes on UAE in their second Asia Cup T20 match this evening at Mirpur, nothing but a comprehensive win would be expected from the Tigers. The question is whether Bangladesh are clear favourites against the ICC Associate Member country in the T20 format. The defeat against India in the opener is not the reason behind that question; it is not as if all is lost following the 45-run loss.
