The Supreme Court fixes October 8 for hearing an appeal filed challenging a High Court verdict that ordered paying Tk 4.61 crore compensation to the family of eminent filmmaker Tareque Masud over his death in a road accident around seven years ago.

The High Court (HC) orders the authorities concerned to pay Tk 4.61 crore as compensation to family members of eminent filmmaker Tareque Masud who was killed in a road accident in 2011.

With great reverence we remember Tareque Masud, the “Cinema Feriwalla”, a leading Bangladeshi independent filmmaker, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist who was born on this very day in the year of 1956.
