Lumin, lead vocalist of the iconic rock band Feedback, premiered his musical film “Firey Esho” in Dhaka yesterday, with Universal Medical College Hospital hosting the event at the Empyrean Hotel.

More than two decades after its original release, Bappa Mazumder has brought back one of Dalchhut’s most beloved songs, “Brishti Pore”, in a brand-new arrangement—this time accompanied by an AI-generated music video.

After a long hiatus, renowned musician Bappa Mazumder has released a full-length music album — and notably, in CD format. Titled “Vertical Horizon”, the album features a total of 12 tracks, including five new songs and six older ones.

Bappa Mazumder is set to return to the stage with a solo concert under the “Yamaha on True Sound” series. Scheduled for July 22 at the Yamaha Flagship Centre in Dhaka, the event will feature reimagined versions of his well-known songs.

Renowned singer-composer Bappa Mazumder, along with his wife, actress Tania Hossain, and their two daughters, narrowly escaped a fire that broke out at their Banani residence early Thursday (May 22) morning. The incident, which occurred in the multi-storey building where the family lives, prompted an emergency response from the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Renowned singer and music director Bappa Mazumder has lent his voice to a song titled “Magurar Phool”, inspired by the tragic incident involving eight-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered in Magura.

The official statement regarding Gaanshala further added that it is committed to nurturing the regular practice of creating original songs, aiming to create a platform for vocalists, musicians, lyricists, composers, and music professionals. 

“Initially, ‘Bolechho’ was crafted with her in mind as a solo artiste. But when she suggested I join her in making it a duet, it felt like a dream come true. This invitation will remain one of the most treasured gifts of my career,” he said.

Musician Joy Shahriar will open the show the concert for Bappa Mazumder. The “Bonomali” famed singer will then perform some of the most beloved songs from his extensive body of work.

Dalchhut, the renowned band formed under the leadership of Sanjeeb Chowdhury in 1996, is set to release a new album titled “Sanjeeb,” in honour of its founding member.

Bappa Mazumder devoted his second solo concert to those of his fans who missed the first one, which took place on September 23, 2022. However, seeing hundreds of his fans, from toddlers to 60-year-olds, eagerly waiting for him to sing their favourite songs at the show, the question remains: will the audiences ever get enough of Bappa Mazumder and his songs? The answer is probably no.

The immensely popular musical venture of last year “The School of Rock” is making its return with its second edition on February 16, featuring Ashes, Shonar Bangla Circus, Plasmic Knock, Blue Jeans etc. and James as the headliner of the concert.
