Cadres, non-cadres to start with 9th grade of 8th pay scale
The first class cadre and non-cadre officials will get their entry-level salaries at ninth grade of the 8th National Pay Scale. A cabinet committee, formed to eradicate salary discrimination, makes the decision in a meeting with a view to bringing parity with non-cadre officers.

BCS preliminary test tomorrow, no watches allowed
The 36th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination will be held tomorrow. Aspirants have been asked not to carry watches, along with any other electronic devices, in the test venues set up through Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet and Rangpur.
