BNP alleges that its Chairperson Khaleda Zia's nomination paper has been cancelled as part of government blueprint to hold a lopsided election.

After BNP chief Khaleda Zia is jailed for five years, Law Minister Anisul Huq says it depends on the Supreme Court decision whether she can contest the next national election slated for December this year.

A Chittagong court yesterday summoned the editor and managing editor of the Dainik Purbokone, a local newspaper, in connection with a defamation case filed over publishing alleged fake news about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's family.
