The rising star will be starring in four films this year—two Bangladeshi projects, including one directed by Tanvir Hossain Probal, and two Indian films, one from Tamil Nadu and another from Kolkata. “I have a significant fanbase in Kolkata, and that’s how I was approached for these projects,” he shared.

These include Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury’s “Boli”, Shankha Dasgupta’s “Priyo Maloti”, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s “Rickshaw Girl”, Akram Khan’s “Nokshi Kanthar Zamin”, Nurul Alam Atique’s “Peyarar Subash”, Gias Uddin Selim’s “Kajol Rekha”, Dhrubo Hasan’s “Fatima”, Mishuk Monir’s “Deyaler Desh”, and Raihan Rafi’s “Toofan”.

After making rounds in international film festivals, Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury's directorial film “Boli” is now set to release in theatres across Bangladesh on February 7.

The critically acclaimed Bangladeshi film “Boli: The Wrestler”, which won the top award at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, is set to be screened at the Burning Crab Festival in Cox’s Bazar.

The film has been screening at Mississauga’s Central Parkway Cinema, marking its international debut since Saturday (September 27). Confirming the news, director Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury said, “We’ve released the film on a limited scale in Canada. The first show premiered yesterday and audiences will be able to watch it throughout the week.”

The Asian Project Market is a crucial event within the Busan International Film Festival, where 30 films from various countries are chosen for potential production and distribution deals. “Dhakar Nagin” has earned its place among this esteemed lineup — a recognition that underscores Iqbal's growing influence in the Asian film scene.
