After 42 matches over more than a month, the Bangladesh Premier League has finally reached the playoffs stage, with four teams out of seven remaining in the title race.

In an attempt that could be equated to putting a band aid on a bullet wound, the governing council of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) held a meeting with the franchise owners yesterday, to address the many scandals that have overshadowed the on-field action in the ongoing tournament.

The players' draft for the 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League is all set to take place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka today.
