Brac Onnesha, the country's first nano-satellite developed by three Brac University students with the use of Japanese technology, began orbiting the earth yesterday.

Bangladesh’s first nano-satellite, made by students of privately-run Brac University, has begun orbiting the Earth. It will pick high quality photographs of land to analyse vegetation, urbanisation, flood, water resources, forestry and other natural resources from overhead for research purposes.

Brac Onnesha, the first nano-satellite made by a Bangladeshi university, is launched into the space from Kennedy Space Center in USA.

All formalities for the launch of Brac Onnesha - Bangladesh's first nano-satellite - has been completed with the inauguration of ground station today. Fully operational at Brac University premises, it now awaits the launch of the satellite into orbit - an event that is slated for June 2.

Brac Onnesha, the first nano-satellite of Bangladesh, is going to hit in low earth orbit soon in May this year.
