From classes to coaching and then back to many of our boisterous families, students may struggle to find a place of quiet to rest or self-study in peace. Tiny round tables, wrought iron chairs with red seaters, a grand piano on lend from Notre Dame College, a tiny reading corner, a food counter, and the air that has a hint of freshly brewed coffee or tea make this eatery -- Café la Véranda -- inviting.

As destiny would have it, my true calling awaited me at Ra-Ft Café/Bistro — a coffee haven nestled in the heart of the city. Little did I anticipate that this unassuming café would serve as the backdrop for shaping my endeavours.

Although the story doesn’t talk about how this particular cafe became a time-travelling spot to begin with, reading through to the last page made me feel that the café was always there-since the beginning of time.

In Bangladesh, most cafes and restaurants do not allow pets.
