Sony Pictures is planning a biopic on "Cleopatra", the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. However, controversy emerged around the rumoured casting of the film.

The University of Manchester academics rejects the story that Cleopatra, ancient queen of Egypt, was killed by a snake bite as "impossible".

The classic film "Cleopatra" (1963) is known as one of the most expensive movies ever made and nearly caused the 20th Century Fox to go bankrupt.
