Superhero movies make the biggest splash at San Diego's Comic-Con this year, but the convention's 130,000 comic book and pop culture fans are also treated to a smorgasbord of experiences, surprises and scares.

A special one-off episode of the hit BBC drama Sherlock will be shown in selected cinemas around the world, co-creator Steven Moffat has announced.
