With a plan to relieve big cities including Dhaka of the pressure of excessive population, Finance Minister AMA Muhith proposes to reduce withholding tax rates for real estate sector in the 2016-17 fiscal year budget.

The government has recently issued a notice to the people concerned that no commercial establishment will be allowed to operate in residential plots of Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara, and Uttara.

Unapproved institutions and commercial establishments must leave from the residential areas in Dhaka city within the next six months.
