Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today told leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) that leadership of the student body will be elected through direct votes of its councillors.

Newly elected mayors and councillors of three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong will be sworn-in on Wednesday morning.

Ruling Awami League has finalised lone councilor hopefuls for most units for the upcoming city corporation elections to the two halves of Dhaka city, to be held on April 28.
