The Monsoon Revolution Film Production Workshop has officially been launched under the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, with the vision of decentralising the filmmaking industry and nurturing new talent from across the country. The workshop aims to create opportunities for aspiring filmmakers beyond Dhaka, empowering them with hands-on training in storytelling, cinematography, production, editing, and the application of technology in filmmaking.

The 23rd edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) is set to commence tomorrow, January 11. The nine-day festival will run until January 19, featuring 220 feature and short films from 75 countries across 10 categories. Among them, 44 films from Bangladesh will be showcased.

Bangladesh emerged as a sovereign state on December 16, 1971, following a nine-month-long Liberation War. This year, the nation celebrates Victory Day with renewed fervour, especially after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s regime on August 5, 2024.
