The parliamentary body on Women and Children Affairs today submitted its report in parliament on 'Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Bill, 2020' seeking death penalty for rape.

The hasty decision on enacting death penalty for rape is not only appalling but harmful too, a feminist alliance said today.

Law Minister Anisul Huq today said an ordinance will be promulgated tomorrow on the amendment of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, incorporating the provision of death penalty for rape so that the law can be applied quickly.
