A romantic novel set against the backdrop of the Sri Lankan civil war bagged the prestigious DSC Prize for South Asian Literature, as the seventh Dhaka Literary Festival ended yesterday with hopes of engaging even more literary minds from across the globe next year.

The seventh edition of Dhaka Lit Fest was inaugurated in the capital's Bangla Academy premises yesterday with expectations of bridging the gap between Bangla and English literature.

After successful publications of the graphic novel on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Bangla, the English version of the first part of the novel series "Mujib" is unveiled at the Dhaka Lit Fest at Bangla Academy in Dhaka.

Syrian poet Ali Ahmad Said Esber along with Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan Dhaka Lit Fest directors today raised the curtains on Dhaka Literary Festival, a three-day festival at the Bangla Academy premises.
