The High Court observes that non-implementation of its directives and rule over the 2010 Nimtoli fire in Old Dhaka is unfortunate.

The High Court expresses dissatisfaction at the failure by authorities concerned of the government in implementing the 17 recommendations of the probe committee formed following the tragic Nimtoli incident in 2010 and questioned its legality.

It is extremely worrying that chemical warehouses continue to operate in Old Dhaka, which means that we have failed to draw lessons from the Nimtoli fire in 2010 that killed 123 people.
