Flight operations have resumed at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport, Cox’s Bazar Airport, and Barishal Airport at 12pm today (October 25, 2022) after 21 hours. 

Local airlines will face a severe blow and lose global competitiveness due to the unprecedented increase in jet fuel prices in the domestic market yet again.

The price of per litre jet fuel was raised by Tk 5 — to Tk 111 — for domestic flights today (June 12, 2022) by Padma Oil Company Limited, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

The civil aviation ministry has decided to resume domestic passenger flights on a limited scale from June 1, more than two months after imposing a suspension on almost all international and domestic flights to contain outbreak of Covid-19.

The High Court asks the authorities concerned to explain in four weeks why they should not be directed to frame rules to fix the prices of airline tickets, ticket cancellation fees and different charges including additional luggage charges on domestic flights.
