Riding on an impressive all-round display from Mosaddek Hossain and a composed unbeaten half-century from Mohammad Mithun, Abahani Limited secured their third successive Dhaka Premier League (DPL) title with a commanding six-wicket win over arch-rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club in their final Super League match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Mohammedan Sporting Club skipper Towhid Hridoy was handed a one-match suspension for his heated exchange with on-field umpires Tanvir Ahmed and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat in a Dhaka Premier League fixture against Abahani at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

Towhid Hridoy believes the intensity and emotional weight of “a few matches in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL)” push players to give more than they often do in international cricket, after Mohammedan triumphed by 39 runs over their arch-rivals Abahani in a high-stakes DPL fixture on Saturday.
