Declaring BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman as "fugitives", the High Court today (June 26, 2022) rejected their writ petitions challenging the initiation and filing of a Tk 4.82 crore corruption case filed during the caretaker government in 2007.

The Supreme Court in a full text of a verdict declared Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman, a fugitive in the eye of law.

The Supreme Court will deliver its order on April 13 on an appeal filed by Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, challenging a High Court verdict that cleared the way for the lower court to resume the trial proceedings of a corruption case against her.
