Candidates from Chhatra League for the posts of vice-president and general secretary are set to have a tight race with quota reformists and other student leaders in Monday's Ducsu polls, say campus sources.

Bangladesh Chhatra League yesterday announced its 25-member panel to contest the much-awaited Ducsu election amid Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal's demand for deferring the polls for three months.

The High Court refused to continue the hearing on a contempt petition, filed against DU authorities regarding Ducsu election, following an argument between the lawyers in the court yesterday.

A contempt of court petition was filed with the High Court yesterday against the vice-chancellor, proctor and treasurer of Dhaka University for not complying with its directive over holding the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election.
