In the first six months of this year, around 30 films have been released in the country, with only a few achieving notable commercial successes. However, several movies and songs have generated significant buzz in the entertainment industry and among audiences.

As of Saturday, with only eight films currently slated for release, fans and filmmakers alike are engaged in spirited discussions about which movies will make the final cut and dominate the box office during Eid.

Three films fell off from the Eid race in the country’s premier multiplex, Star Cineplex. On the third and fifth day of Eid-ul-Fitr respectively, Kazi Hayat directorial film “Green Card” and Chotku Ahmed’s government-granted film “Ahare Jibon” were taken down. However, both movies are still running shows at Lion Cinemas.

This year, with more than 15 new films slated for release on the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, many A-List showbiz celebrities are to grace the silver screen with their latest offerings for audiences.

The director of the film Chhatku Ahmed often brings various social issues to light through his films. With entertainment, his films carry a touch of realism and relevance to different challenging social situations.

Due to the National Parliamentary Elections 2024 and the surge in Bollywood film releases in Bangladesh, producers were waiting for favourable time to release their films. They intend to have a window to acquire profits and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr seems like a perfect opportunity.
