Three weeks since their Eid release, Bangladeshi films continue to draw strong audience turnout. Among the six titles released this festive season, “Borbaad”, “Daagi”, “Jongli”, and “Chokkor 302” have sustained their performance, contributing to a boost in the local box office.

This abrupt increase has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many expressing their frustration and disappointment. Filmmakers and industry insiders have also voiced their concerns.​

The film, completed four years ago, was abruptly added to the Eid lineup without prior marketing, raising eyebrows in the industry. While other Eid releases were in full promotional swing, “Antaratma” seemingly appeared out of nowhere, with its teaser, song, and trailer dropping within hours of each other. Even Shakib Khan and the film’s cast remained largely silent about its release.

With six films set for release, securing prime spots in multiplexes and single-screen theatres has turned into a high-stakes negotiation. The last-minute addition of Shakib Khan’s long-delayed "Antaratma" has further complicated matters, forcing some films into an even tighter competition for screen space.
