The government has declared a public holiday on April 3 through an executive order to ensure smooth travels for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

Government employees are set to enjoy a prolonged holiday during Eid-ul-Fitr, with at least six consecutive days off, according to the public administration.

Travellers were undeterred by the ongoing heatwave or higher accommodation and transport costs as tourist destinations across Bangladesh were bustling with activity during the recent holiday centring Eid-ul-Fitr.
