Bangladesh sent in as many as six openers along with Soumya Sarkar to the Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, hoping to gauge the cricketers’ performance for the backup opener slot in the national team.

Soumya Sarker and Sheikh Mahedi were included in the Bangladesh squad heading for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 next month in Sri Lanka.
