The central bank devalued the local currency Tk 103 from Tk 102 in the first week of April.

Bangladesh Bank can better fix the currency turmoil by freeing both interest rate and exchange rate to adjust over time.

The exchange rate of the taka stood at Tk 93.95 per dollar today in contrast to Tk 92.45 on Tuesday.
