Lumin, lead vocalist of the iconic rock band Feedback, premiered his musical film “Firey Esho” in Dhaka yesterday, with Universal Medical College Hospital hosting the event at the Empyrean Hotel.

Under the initiative of “Shobar Agey Bangladesh Foundation”, a series of “Swadhinata Concerts” will be held simultaneously in four divisional cities, including Dhaka, on April 11.

Playing intricately groovy bass lines while effortlessly singing in tune with his ethereal voice at the same time, often clad in his signature hat and always well-fashioned both on and off stage, Shafin Ahmed was an epitome of showmanship. The artiste was a larger-than-life persona not only in the history of Bangla rock music but also in the history of Bangladeshi art, regardless of mediums.

A tribute concert titled “Shafin Ahmed: Echoes of a Legend” has been organised to commemorate the legacy of the late band icon Shafin Ahmed. Set to take place on February 13 at Aloki in Tejgaon, Dhaka, the event will feature performances by fellow musicians in his honour.

Winter tends to mark the arrival of the concert season, with November and December bringing a host of live music events both in Dhaka and beyond. This year is no different, as a concert titled “The Capital” is set to light up the stage on November 15, showcasing performances by 10 bands from around the country.

Feedback’s legacy and impact on Bangladeshi music cannot be understated, as they were the heart of band music in the 80’s and 90’s, while still going strong to this day.
