Amid poor enforcement of safety rules, the number of fire incidents has risen in the last four years.

At least 71 people were killed in a tragic fire at Wahed Mansion in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area in Old Dhaka on February 20, 2019.

Record-setting temperatures are making everything dry and more flammable, and this has been making fire incidents more frequent and lethal, experts said.

Incidents of fire are rising rapidly all over Bangladesh. After analysing the data provided by Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, a rising trend in the fire related incidents are seen starting from 2006 to 2018.
