Five fishing trawlers capsized at different points of the Bay of Bengal from noon to evening this evening adjacent to Kuakata in Patuakhali today (August 19, 2022).

Some 12 fishing trawlers along with 20 fishermen went missing as the Bay was rough yesterday due to inclement weather in Cox's Bazar coastal area, said Cox's Bazar Fishing Boat Owners' Association.

Robbers allegedly attack 25 trawlers and abducted at least 50 fishermen in the Bay in Fareboya area, about 50-kilometre south-west from Kuakata sea beach in Patuakhali.

At least 67 fishermen are missing as five trawlers capsize in the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata in Patuakhali and five others in Barguna.
