In a heart-warming display of compassion, artists across Bangladesh are stepping forward, using their talents to support those affected by the floods.

Sacks and sacks of relief materials are being lined up inside the TSC complex of Dhaka University. They are then sorted, packaged and loaded on trucks, to be carried to flood affected areas.

People from all walks of life, alongside numerous non-profit organisations, have stepped up their efforts to rescue and provide relief to the millions affected by the floods in Sylhet and Chattogram divisions.

“Move aside! Move aside!”

Social media influencer, Firoz Hasan of Free Motion, has taken a personal initiative to stand by the flood victims of Sylhet and Sunamganj. As a content creator, Hasan met people in distress and felt that the plight of these people should be highlighted. At one point, he thought of making videos and uploading them on social media.

Cry for relief is getting louder in Sylhet and Sunamganj as at least 40 lakh people remain stranded due to flood in the two districts and over 3 lakh of them have taken refuge at different shelters.

We have not seen such devastating floods in the country since 1988. Every year during monsoon, the haor areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts experience flooding – but it has never been this catastrophic.

With flood receding for the last three days, the administration in Moulvibazar has been able to ramp up the measures to distribute relief among the victims.

Thousands of people in Moulvibazar's five upazilas are facing a shortage of relief supplies following the flashflood.
