Nearly 44 million schoolchildren celebrate the Textbook Festival receiving books free of cost for their new classes on the first day of the new year joining the festivity at schools and madrasas across the country.

Primary and secondary students are set to get new textbooks on the first day of 2018 as the government has taken all preparations to distribute more than 35 crore copies of free books.

The government is to distribute 35,42,90,162 textbooks free of cost among the primary and secondary level students in the academic year 2018.
