The Election Commission today said it is satisfied with the explanation given by the mayoral candidate of the ruling Awami League Azmat Ullah Khan in Gazipur City polls regarding his alleged violation of the electoral code of conduct.

In addition to staying the previous High Court order, the apex court has directed the Election Commission to arrange the Gazipur city polls by June 28, which was originally scheduled for May 15.
