A goal in time added on by Senegal international Sadio Mane gave Liverpool a 1-0 win over city rivals Everton and saw them move into second spot in the Premier League on Monday.

Arsenal were humbled by Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea lost to Stoke City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

Chelsea's start to the defence of their Premier League title went from bad to worse as they were beaten 3-1 at Goodison Park.
