The alleged ringleader of a Rohingya robber gang was killed in a “gunfight” with police in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf yesterday morning, hours after his arrest.

The tally of alleged drug peddlers killed in “shootouts” stood at 22 in the last one week with nine of them shot to death yesterday alone amid anti-narcotic drives of law enforcers across the country.

Six alleged criminals, including four drug traders, are killed in separate “gunfights” with law enforcers in Feni, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Barisal, Jessore and Tangail districts.
