Saudi Arabian police detained a Bangladeshi hajj pilgrim on charges of begging in Madinah.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines yesterday reduced the fare of Hajj flights by Tk 10,191.

Citing an oblique reference to the sufferings of hajj pilgrims this year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the authorities concerned to initiate a fresh plan so that no hajj pilgrim faces trouble next year.

The religious affairs ministry yesterday gave a 48-hour “final ultimatum” to 16 hajj agencies for completing all procedures to send around 3,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia by August 26.
