Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, has recently announced that they are taking steps to control misinformation related to the Israel-Hamas War on their platforms. These steps will include removing any posts or comments supporting Hamas, as well as deleting content that "clearly identifies hostages" of the ongoing war.

The death toll from five days of ferocious fighting between Hamas and Israel rose sharply overnight as Israel kept up its bombardment of Gaza Wednesday after recovering the dead from the last communities near the border where Palestinian militants had been holed up.
