Declining to apologise to schoolteacher Shyamal Kanti Bhakta for humiliating him publicly, Salim Osman MP says he might apologise to Health Minister Mohammad Nasim instead.

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim says Jatiya Party lawmaker Salim Osman will refrain from joining the parliament sessions “if he has any self-respect”.

Narayanganj school headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta, who was in attention for the last few days over an incident of humiliation by a local lawmaker, is moved to Dhaka for better treatments.

Jatiya Party Lawmaker AKM Salim Osman yesterday came up with another story over the humiliation of headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta. He said the teacher was a psycho (taarchera) and had squatted holding his earlobes in public “willingly to save himself".

An education ministry probe committee found no evidence that Shyamal Kanti Bhakta had hurt anyone's religious sentiment though, on this allegation, the Narayanganj headmaster was publicly humiliated on a local lawmaker's instruction.
