Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says the government has a plan to introduce electric and high-speed trains in the country to make the railway services better and faster.

The government is set to build a high-speed rail link between Dhaka and Chattogram which will reduce journey time to within 57 minutes, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan told parliament yesterday.

India has agreed to buy a high-speed bullet train from Japan, in an attempt to transform its creaking rail system.
