"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" leaped to the top of the box office for a second straight week, although with greatly diminished ticket sales, industry figures show.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens smashes the record for the biggest box office debut weekend in North America with ticket sales of $238m (£159.7m).

Moviegoers are opting to stick with James Bond and Charlie Brown at North American multiplexes, with “Spectre” heading for $35 million in its second weekend.
