The 2025 Champions Trophy will be staged under a hybrid model as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally broken the deadlock.

After a long and drawn out deliberation process, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have seemingly agreed on a hybrid model for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy which the ICC has also approved and will officially declare soon, reports multiple outlets from Pakistan and India.

The ICC Champions Trophy is set to arrive in Bangladesh today as part of its global tour and will stay in the country from December 9-13, giving fans a chance to see the coveted trophy up close.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has sought clarification from the sport's governing International Cricket Council (ICC) following India's refusal to travel across the border for next year's Champions Trophy, a PCB spokesperson told Reuters on Tuesday.

Due to their soured political relations, India have not visited Pakistan since 2008 and the rivals play each other only at multi-team events.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is in talks with its Afghan counterparts to arrange a three-match ODI series as part of the national team’s preparation for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
