Erasmus will lead an experienced group that qualified for the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup courtesy of an unbeaten run at last year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier on home soil with JJ Smit named vice-captain.

The Tigers are yet to announce their 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and should Shakib be selected, he would join Rohit as the only players to have competed in every T20 World Cup, sharing that honour.

Pandya was named as vice-captain earlier this week for next month's showpiece 20-over tournament, jointly hosted by the United States and West Indies, with veteran Rohit Sharma leading the squad.
