Bangladesh's position in the rankings remained unchanged at ninth

Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam jumps four places to a career-best 14th after his 10-wicket haul and player of the match heroics against the Kiwis in Sylhet in the first Test of the two-match series. Taijul's total of 708 rating points is the highest-ever by a Bangladesh bowler, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan’s 705 achieved in August 2017.

The annual update of the official rankings dropped the results from the 2019-20 season and reflects all series completed since May 2020

"The ICC acknowledges, for a short period of time on February 15, 2023 that, due to a technical error, India were erroneously displayed as the No.1 Test team on the ICC website," it said.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan retains top spot as the best all-rounder in the ICC Test Rankings.
