Banks charge SMEs interest rates ranging between 13 and 15 percent, among the highest across all sectors except services.

The interest rate on loans is going to surpass 13 percent from March despite lowering the margin as the benchmark interest rate has been increasing consistently since its introduction.

The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has sought cooperation from the central bank so that the interest rate on loans does not increase by a large margin.
