The telecom operators lost 10 lakh subscribers alone in January

The number of internet users in Bangladesh witnessed a notable upswing of 10 lakh in August, predominantly attributed to the expansion of the country’s mobile subscriber network.

The number of internet subscribers rose in March as mobile network operators and broadband service providers both bagged new customers due to increased usage of different digital services other than social media. 

Bangladesh is still lagging behind its peers in Asia when it comes to internet usage and its awareness, found a recent survey.

The number of active internet connections in Bangladesh hit 9.05 crore in August thanks to the addition of about 18 lakh new connections to the network in a month.
