The BNP, Juktofront, and Jatiya Oikya Prokriya have decided to wage a movement from a single platform to press home their five-point demand, including release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Dr Kamal Hossain-led platform Jatiya Oikya Prokriya has called for a human chain on October 7 to press for its demand for an election-time neutral government.

The liaison committee of Jatiya Oikya Prokriya would be formed after the BNP holds its rally on September 29, said AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury yesterday.

Top leaders of Jatiya Oikya Prokriya and Juktofront have decided to form a liaison committee to coordinate programmes and facilitate communication among parties to forge greater unity.

Several top BNP leaders shared the stage with Dr Kamal Hossain and Prof Badruddoza Chowdhury at a citizens' rally in the capital yesterday and extended full support to Jatiya Oikya Prokriya's three-point demand including formation of a polls-time neutral government.

Dr Kamal Hossain-led platform, Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, will hold a rally in Dhaka tomorrow as part of its effort to forge a greater national unity, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary election.

Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Juktafront and Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya yesterday formally announced forging of a “greater national unity” to ensure that people elect their representatives through a fair election.
