Employers in Bangladesh required nine out of the last 10 jobseekers they hired in the past five years to possess at least basic digital literacy and skills, found an Asian Development Bank (ADB) and LinkedIn survey.  

They used to publish fake job advertisements in newspapers assuring the jobseekers of processing their visa applications to land jobs in Hong Kong and realise a handsome amount.

They are not thieves, robbers or pirates but desperate jobseekers ready to give service in exchange for something to live on.

Bangladeshi jobseekers will be sent to Singapore under government management, said Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister, today.
