The government appoints Justice Md Shawkat Hossain, a retired judge of the High Court, as chairman of the Administrative Appellate Tribunal for two years on a contractual basis.

The High Court directs the government to arrange adequate security for three of its judges now hearing the death references and appeals of 2009 Pilkhana carnage case.
