Cultural platform Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Golam Kuddus says the removal of removal of the sculpture of Lady Justice from the Supreme Court premises is a “shameless surrender to the fundamentalist forces”.

Four persons, who were picked up while protesting the removal of the statue of Lady Justice from the Supreme Court premises yesterday, are produced before a Dhaka court showing them arrested in a case filed by Shahbagh police.

For the statue of Lady Justice, it was a brief stay on the Supreme Court premises. It was there for only five months.

Ten eminent personalities of the country in a statement yesterday said the government “virtually surrendered to religious fundamentalist forces” through removing the Lady Justice's statue from the Supreme Court premises.
